Cathode Material Series

The cathode is connected to the negative pole of the power supply in the electrolytic cell. The current leaves the electrolytic cell through the cathode and enters the external circuit to return to the power supply. The cathode receives the electrons released from the negative pole of the power supply, and the reduction process of metal ions absorbing electrons to precipitate metal elements is performed on it.

Copper Cathodes

The cathode materials for copper electrodeposition and electrolytic refining include thin copper starting sheet (traditional method) and permanent stainless steel plate (ISA, KIDD, OT, and EPCM technical methods). The cathode used for the permanent cathode electrolysis technique is composed of 316L stainless steel plate, current conducting rod, and insulated edge. The plate for the main part of the permanent cathode is made of 316L stainless steel, and the conducting rod forms are rectangular square copper tubes, copper-clad steel and steel-clad copper respectively.

Zinc Cathodes

The cathode plate for zinc electrodeposition is composed of such parts as aluminum plate, aluminum alloy conducting beam or pure aluminum conducting beam, composite conducting head (conducting strip), and lifting lugs and process by a specific process to be suitable for hydrometallurgical zinc electrodeposition.
